Class, another great article regarding change in organizations is Greiner's Growth Model. The model illustrates that organizations go through ebbs and flows. In growth the organization is excelling meeting goals, etc. A crisis hits such as the people that started the org are too focused on just selling the product they keep growing by adding people but they reach a point they have too many people and they need structure. Those founders either don't know how to do that or don't want to be burdened with it so they hire some managers to start managing and adding structure. Now we are back in a growth stage, until the new hires get tired of being directed and told what to do. Now we have to push decision making down, give them autonomy. That works for awhile until the next crisis or revolution as Larry Griener states. I have attached a link to one of his articles. This theory has been around a long time. Your thoughts
