An airline wants to create an automated check-in system for their domestic flights, where the majority of passengers are not expected to carry more than hand luggage. The system should be based exclusively on interaction with a 1024x768 colour touch screen. The process is initiated through a virtual start button, and proceeds with the customer inputting their email address, password and booking confirmation number. The system then should consult the existing airline's central reservation database and if the details are correct, and the flight is to take off no more than 2 hours from the current time, it shows a layout of the seats available on the airplane. The user can then select any seat they prefer and after a final confirmation message, the system prints off a boarding card. The boarding card contains the passenger's name, seat number, departure gate, departure time and time the passenger has to be at the gate. The system has to be easy and intuitive to use.
