- Click the Update Billing Consolidation button. The summary data should update to include the totals from the Month2 and Month worksheets. NOTE: If you receive an error message, follow the steps below. If you do not receive any errors, move on to step 16.
i. If you receive a Visual Basic error message similar to "Run-time error 1004': Cannot add duplicate source reference.", click the Debug button to open the BE.
The highlighted lines are the references used in the consolidate function. Notice all three lines reference the Month 1 worksheet. Click the yellow arrow to the left of the highlighted code to select it for editing. Resize the Module 1 window if necessary. Change the second reference to Month and change the third reference to Month3. After you have changed the references click the yellow arrow to the left of the highlighted lines again to deselect them. iii. Save your changes by clicking the Save button on the VBE toolbar. iv. Return to Microsoft Excel.
v. If you see the message "This command will stop the debugger." click OK. vi. Click the Update Billing Consolidation button again to verify that the error has been fixed and the summary data have been updated properly. The data may have already been updated when you fixed the macro so clicking the button again may not be necessary.
