Question:
Client: Amrolean Pools and Landscaping Objective: Add visibility to the tools and consumable inventory Amrolean Pools and Landscaping is a subsidiary of John Roberts Signature Homes Inc. The focus of Amrolean is the installation of Fiberglass pools and hardscaping. Amrolean is an authorized dealer for Latham Pools. Amrolean, the pool division operates seasonally and employs a crew of 4 dedicated employees and a subcontracted excavator. Currently, the equipment and tools required for the installation of pools are stored in a number of locations and job trailers. Amrolean has a partial inventory list of tools that is an MS Excel-based spreadsheet. The current setup does not provide adequate visibility of where the tools and consumables are stored, and the consumable inventory is loosely monitored. As Amrolean has grown the need to store tools and materials has also grown. Unfortunately, Amrolean does not have a central warehouse rather it utilizes the resources of the Parent Company to store material. At times, tools and or materials are not in the job trailer and this requires someone to leave the job site and find or purchase the required item. The other issue is that tools are lost and currently a system is not employed to track the tools. Amrolean realizes the current setup is not conducive to an efficient operation. Because of the seasonality of the business Amrolean does not want to lease a warehouse space. Amrolean has negotiated an agreement with the Parent company to construct a small 1,200sqft storage site. The scheduled completion of the storage unit is August of 2022. Amrolean would like to implement some type of inventory system to organize the new storage location and the job site trailers.
