$1.)$ For each of the following problems, identify the inputs and outputs.

A population of bacteria growing on a surface can be estimated using the exponential formula $b(1+r{)}^t,$ where $b$ is the initial number of bacteria living on the surface, $r$ is the growth rate of the bateria, and $t$ is the time in minutes.

If a very large train is running a route consisting of $s$ stops. At each stop it lets $n$ people on and $m$ people get off. At the end of its route, how many people are on the train? You may assume that at each stop there will be enough people to get on and get off, that the train is never empty or full.
