COMM 1419 RECOMMENDATION REPORT ASSIGNMENT 20% Your Task For this assignment, students must make a recommendation for improving some aspect of the college or your workplace; a classroom or equipment, for example. Observe your workspace at work or at school and make note of anything you think could be improved. This should be an object or spatial organization as opposed to an idea or concept. It should be a real suggestion. No research is required for this assignment, but any research used must be documented in IEEE format Requirements Your task in this assignment is to write a recommendation report suggesting a way to make the improvement. Your report should be in memo format and have the following components: Introduction - provide some information about the report - who you are (e.g, what your job is or if you're a student, what class or course or classroom you're discussing), why you are writing it, who it is for, the situation (e.g., if you're writing about a workplace issue, tell where you work, what your job is, and anything else that is relevant to the report you're writing), may include purpose statement Background-state the problem, why it's a problem (eg, if it's a safety issue, or maybe efficiency), how it affects the worker or students and the employer or college Recommendation - what you think should be done to "fix" the problem, how it will work, what it will cost, how easy it would be to implement your solution, how long it will take, how students, workers and the employer or college will benefit by your suggestion Conclusion - a brief of summary of the situation/problem, your proposed resolution and how it will help everyone involved Your report should be 1-2 pages long and should include headings similar to the ones used above (in bold).
