After watcing the video on Bill Gates, I can see that Bill Gates posses a alot of good qualitites. He is very knowledable on the aspects of technology and uses that knowledge to help and teach his employees as well as his company. He understands that being the boss means being the front line of the company and he did just that. Bill gates has been successful because he believed in his ideas of computers and technology and pushed himself and others around him in a positive way to push past the barriers of that time. I believe that Bill Gates has a transactional leadership, as he wanted his employees to strive beyond required expectaions and work toward a shared vision. Bill gates is also very task oriented. According to our textbook, "The primary purpose of task-oriented behaviors is to assist others in accomplishing their goals and those of the work unit. Although a host of behaviors fall under this category, such as planning, clarifying, monitoring, and problem solving, researchers have mainly studies two: initating structure and transactional leadership"(Pavlou,2022, P. 516).
