Yes, I would like to work in a company with this sort of performance system. In fact this the system Walmart uses in its stores. Every quarter my pharmacy manager will do face-to-face performance evaluations with us. We talk about or performance, our strengths, weaknesses, and set goals to achieve. This made it easier to have a better balance in work quality and quantity. A company like Wachovia invest so much in performance evaluation since Dr. Craver saw a flaw in the prior system. One of the concerns Dr. Carver had when she got to Wachovia was that they did not have a common performance appraisal and management system. Using what Dr. Craver had suggested enhanced their work through having tools so that performance will be evaluated properly without biases. In short, the company wanted quality with their work. Managers conduct quarterly session towards its subordinate to address work performance. This is enough for me because through this face to face session, problems and issues will be solved and can enhance the camaraderie and participation of managers and employee. Aside from this, giving feedback is done to address unmet goals and to further improve the quality of work. By setting specific goals to attain within the given period of time, it can increase employees motivation and performance. This will also help the productivity of everyone in the company. It encourages employees to not settle for mediocre output. Employees will focus on their efficiency to accomplished goals.
