Community engagement is one of the most important aspect of engineering as a career path. Being an engineering technologist you should be able to use the engineering knowledge gained through the 3 years of study to provide solution to the community where you come from. As an Electrical Engineering technologist, you are requested to identify a electrical engineering problem in the area where you come from and design a solution that will be applicable to solve the problem in that area. In this assignment as stated above, you are supposed to incorporate engineering theory and do so with professionalism in the solution that you are going to provide to the community. The Rubric that will be used to assess your work is the GA10 rubric, Engineering Professionalism so be sure to pay careful attention to the criteria of the rubric. Instructions: Task 0 [10] Remember that you are going to make many decisions that pertain to your engineering field. Be sure to explicitly show what those decision-making processes are ultimately leading you to your solution. (10) Task 1 [10] Give an analysis of the environment where your assignment will be based. Any engagement with the community has ethical considerations. Describe the nature and complexity of the ethical dilemmas you face. Task [10] This project will require that you make certain decisions. What are the ethical implications of this project and how will they impact the decisions you make to implement your solution? (10) Task 3 [15] Explain how ethical reasoning is used to evaluate the solution you are planning to implement? (10) Task 4 [55] 4.1 What are the most up-to-date tools and techniques available to you in your field of expertise, in other words, how is your level of competence kept relevant? You don't have to implement them all in this project but show that you are aware of the possibilities available to you as you developed your solution. (15) 4.2 How will you keep developing yourself professionally to ensure that the current or any future project you work on will deliver to current industry standards? (10) 4.3 What were the failures/struggles that you encountered during this project and how did you deal/overcome the setbacks? (15) 4.4 Any project requires that you make quick decisions based on very little available information. What was your decision-making process that describes how you made these decisions in order to solve the problem?
