In this role, you will bring prior experience as an HR business partner and / or consultant to deliver value and provide strategic guidance within our Global Banking & Markets (GBM) and global HRBP group. GBM provides corporate clients with lending and transaction services, investment banking advice and access to capital markets. GBM is a full-service wholesale bank in the Americas, serving clients across Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Key Accountabilities:
Partner closely with / act as a trusted advisor to leaders and HRBPs, nurturing agility and a 'build once, use many mindset to drive innovation and scale.
Collaborate within the Global HR Business Partner group and across Total Rewards, Talent Management, and HR Services.
Shape, influence and align HR strategies and solutions with the overall goals and objectives of Global Banking and Markets.
Enable multiple HR priorities such as talent and succession planning, employee listening, and year-end to meet targets and deadlines.
Define problems and champion a user-centric approach to develop and implement innovative HR solutions in a team-based setting.
Use data to identify patterns and trends, measure the impact of HR solutions and make data-driven recommendations to enhance business value.
Research and share industry trends and emerging practices related to HR, agile product delivery, human centered design, data and analytics, and generative AI.
Experience / Education:
Minimum of 8 years experience in any combination of HR business partner and / or consulting with a desire to understand the unique dynamics within GBM.
Practice in applying agile methodologies and human-centered design principles to drive innovation, foster collaboration and optimize pace.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building strong relationships that impact and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and effective solutions that drive business value.
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to leverage HR metrics to shape and influence decision-making.

Position Overview
Aecon is well-positioned in the Canadian marketplace as an industry leader in the development and construction of infrastructure. We have a roster of ongoing major projects here and abroad, record backlog diversified across multiple sectors and duration, and a robust pipeline of future project pursuits. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will be accountable for the management of the HR business partnership function, supporting the Civil East sector. In addition to the supervision of an administration and coordination team, the incumbent for this role will also directly support a key client group.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance to Leaders, and follow through on developing key talent, driving strong performance coaching, overseeing workforce planning efforts for the sectors, and collaborating on talent acquisition strategy
Manage and oversee the daily direction of the Operational HR team
Oversee HR activities and ensure that the interests of employees and company are considered in accordance with HR policies, and applicable government laws and regulations
Work closely with managers to ensure employee relations issues are handled professionally and effectively
Actively participate in supporting town halls and leadership / operational meetings by providing important HR updates
Ensure accurate system usage and data integrity. Leverage HR data to support people related decisions made by HR/Operations.
Support managers with performance management and objective setting for their teams by effectively creating clear connections to sector objectives
Facilitate Talent Reviews for the Operations teams, with a focus on action and achieving desired outcomes
Support succession management initiatives and ensure appropriate succession plans are in place for the sector
Ensure training needs for the business are evaluated and appropriate training selected, reinforced and tracked
Collaborate with with hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition team on all Talent Acquisition related activities and critical searches
Provide informed guidance on compensation practices within the sector, leveraging the Total Rewards group for collaborative input.
Support the roll-out of various enterprise-wide programs and initiatives
Required Knowledge and Experience
Post secondary school education in Human Resources Management
8 - 10 years progressive experience in Human Resources with at least 2 years supervisory experience
Ability to work in a fact paced, dynamic and matrixed environment/ structure with high resiliency
Superior problem-solving skills, ability to demonstrate agility in creating valuable solutions to complex issues quickly
Versatility in HR portfolio is required; full scope employee life cycle, compensation, recruitment, talent management are a must. Organizational development experience is highly desirable
Tactful and effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with all levels within the organization and influence as required
Strong analytical skills; ability to digest complex issues and simplify to enable appropriate action
Ability to build a consensus among peers to support human resources strategies
