The new employer is Amazon They plan to build a new state-of-the-art campus in a suburb of Richmond. The campus will be on a river, and it will house robotics, drones, research laboratories, and models of retail stores, etc. Amazon is requesting a small power plant be built 10 miles away from the campus on the other side of the river. The river is approximately 1/2 mile wide. It cost $8 per foot to run power lines over land and $10 per foot to run them under water.
