1. Complete a Class List Log - this will be the first observation method you use. Write the first name of the child and their age on the left side of the paper and on the right side record your observations regarding how the child is dealing with separation and school adjustment issues. You only have to record the observation for one student in the class. If you are not in a school setting you can simply document the information on the child you are observing. Put the Class List Log in the Portfolio you are creating.
2. Write and submit a paragraph (minimum of four sentences) regarding what you learned about the child's arrival routine. Record the information when the child first arrives at the home or center.Answer the following questions and submit:

• What is the child's age?
• Does the child separate from the parent easily or do they cry when the parent leaves?
• What activity does the child like to do when he/she first arrives?
• What did you learn about the child in relation to separation and school adjustment from completing the Class List Log
