$6.$ Internet Research Project: You must choose one keyword or topic related to the topics covered in this course and search the internet for material on it$.$ As an example, you may choose to research changes in policy that have affected real estate and determine what these effects mean. You may also select one of the debates discussed in Chapter $17$ and find information pertaining to the topic selected. Select one site or webpage that illustrates or explains the topic, and then write a brief report on the site consisting of three parts:

$($a$)$ Orientation: provide the link; explain where it was found, who created the site$/$page$,$ and an explanation of their motivation in creating it$.$

$($b$)$ Main points or concepts: what are the main points made on the site$/$page$?$ Or what concepts are explained$/$illustrated$?$

$($c$)$ Your reflection$/$response: what is the relevance of this site to you as a real estate practitioner? Do you agree$/$disagree with what is presented and why?

Note that these are rough categories, and the questions provided within them are only suggestions to give you ideas on what to report; not all questions have to be answered, since some may not be applicable to the webpage or website you have chosen. Reports should be roughly $500-600$ words. Your report should focus on online content that is relevant to the course, such as an article or webpage, and not on the specifics of the website itself. Please ensure that you include a printout of the web content, so that the marker can evaluate your analysis.

Search topics can include any concept or keyword of your choosing from the lessons in this course. Before you choose a search topic, you should view the "Websites of Interest" links on your Course Resources webpage. This page should give you ideas for concepts to search for and also ensure that you do not examine a site that is already described there.

With your submission you should include a printout of the web content $($or$,$ if it is a high content site, a few pages of sample content$).$ Web design or style issues are not expected to be evaluated, unless these have some bearing on the content or message of the webpage.

Note from the tutor: The overarching intent of this question is to have students use the internet as a research tool, to seek out and critically evaluate resources that pertain to economic topics. Part $($a$)$ is an introduction; part $($b$)$ is a description of content; and part $($c$)$ is an analysis of content. You are expected to evaluate the content of the website or webpage, summarizing its main points and discussing why it is or is not current, correct, appropriate, relevant to practice, etc. You should focus your discussion on a specific article or information page provided on a given website. Motivation of the webpage provider may be important to discuss, if it affects the content or message, e$.$g$.,$ is the site designed for marketing a product or is it a non$-$profit information source? An alternative that is particularly impressive is to compare and critically evaluate the subject of the article$/$website to other material$/$websites on the same subject and draw definitive conclusions. Keep in mind that creativity of your web search is also a factor in the grading.
