2. A study of students in this class (25 students) on time it takes to commute to work.

3. A study of on-campus Clemson University Students class behavior. Specifically, how many have a pen or pencil out before class starts as opposed to after a lecture or groupwork starts

ForEACHstudy above, address the following questions:

a) What is the population of interest? Define in words.

b) Approximately, how many people are in the population of interest? (Recall, the definition of a population is: The collection of all outcomes, responses, measurements, or counts that are of interest.)

c) What is the best data collection method to use for the study (explain)? (Recall, data collection methods are: Observation, Survey, Experiment, Simulation).

d) For one of the three studies, a census is possible. Determine if a census is possible and then explain why a census is or is not possible for the study. (A census means that we are able to collect data from every unit in the population. Most of the time the population is too large for a census to be possible...too many people to contact and that would take too much money and time).

e) For the two studies where a census is not possible, how many people, students, or cars would you sample out of the population?

f) What sampling technique would you use ? (Explain your reasoning)
