Describe points of conflict that might result from the position of the compliance officers in the organisational chart in relation to the other employees. Once you have described these points, describe how the reporting lines can be structured more appropriately. (Max. 300 words)

• Are the compliance officers of the two branches independent?
• What is the relationship between the branch managers and the compliance officers?
• To whom would the compliance officers be able to report their concerns?
• Considering the importance of an independent compliance function, how effective is the current reporting structure?
• How does the organisational structure impede the mandate of the compliance function?
