Consider the role critical thinking plays in decision making. In using the critical thinking process to solve problems managers should ensure that there is a valid argument (problem) as was demonstrated in the example above. They should ensure that evident they gather is from credible sources. This is often described in the academic world as the use of peer reviewed sources. In organizations credible evidence can be the gathering of firsthand knowledge rather than secondhand information. Critical thinking is based on rational thoughts rather than emotional feelings.
