Solar Book Homebuilt Photovoltaic Power Source A student made the solar book to use as a portable solar energy source to power a small radio or other low power device in the event of a power failure or just for fun. He used two Chronar 6" x 12" solar panels that he bought from a local surplus dealer. The Solar Book is capable of an output of about 3.5 watts in optimal conditions. That is about 20 times more power than the old Channel Master radio needs to operate so a person has plenty of margin to place the Solar Book on a window sill inside the house or use the unit outside in less than optimal light levels and still listen to the radio. 3. When the Security of the Coastline is the Bottom Line Surveillance of an entire coastline is possible with minimal operator effort and at minimal cost when multiple remote radar installations are networked to a Command Center. At each remote radar site, a PCRP Radar Processor controls the radar transceiver and outputs the radar and AIS data via a TCP/IP network port. The data on the network can be augmented with live, high-resolution video using the Camera Manager and video encoders. The combined radar and video data is then transmitted to the Command Center using a land-line or wireless data link. A Composite Tracker at the Command Center allows tracks from multiple radars and multiple sensors to be merged. Targets move seamlessly as they proceed from one radar coverage zone to the next along a section of coastline. If desired, RDOP Displays at the Command Center can allow multiple independent operators to assess the overall radar picture, with each operator zooming into an area of interest. For even wider coverage including coast-to-coast-multiple Command Centers can be linked to Headquarters via a tiered network of secure TCP/IP links
