Tool selection should be based on groups interpretation of the Case Study and assignment requirements, such as the primary problem areas the organization is facing. Note that groups do not need to present the assignment. Directions: 1. In groups of 4-5, read case study 1.3: Jewellery Design and Manufacture Operations: Delivery Delays and Solutions. 2. Based on the case study, identify, and summarize the problems and issues faced by the organization, while also outlining potential areas of improvement and recommendations. Copyright BCIT 2020 3. Select and apply two popular quality management and control tools based on the list of options. One tool should help organize and expose the problem and issue areas determined in the case study. The second tool should provide more of an analytical or data representation. Areas of considerations: When selecting the first tool, your group should consider an option that supports understanding the current situation. Process steps are outlined on pages 2 and 3 of the case study. Another area for consideration when determining tool selection is root cause analysis. This is especially true when deciding the primary reasons for the constant changes in samples and orders of materials. Examples of root cause tools are Pareto Chart, Fishbone Diagram, or Scatter Plot Diagram.
