Could someone explain to me why the different set ups for these 2 questions, even though they seem similar? Why is there no phase change (mL) included in the equation of the second question? I don't need help with the work I just want an explanation, I was just trying to show why I am confused (unless the set up for these is actually wrong)

1) A .040 kg ice cube at 0 C is placed in an insulated box that contains .0075 kg of steam at 100 C. What is the equilibrium temperature reached by this closed system? Note: Assume that all of the ice melts.

the set up is: mLv + cm(Tf-Ti) = mLf + cm (Tf-Ti). the answer is 33.6 C

2) A .030 kg ice cube at 0 C is placed in an insulated box that contains a fixed quantity of steam at 100 C. When thermal equilibrium of this closed system is established, its temperature is found to be 23 C. Determine the original mass of the steam at 100 C.

the set up for this one is: mc(Tf-Ti)= mc(Tf-Ti). the answer is 5g.
