Directions Initial Post After reviewing the Module 2 Checklist, develop milestone targets for the next two weeks. To develop these targets, reflect on your upcoming work for other classes, your personal work schedule, and any family or social activities you have planned so that you can create a brief outline of when you will be completing coursework for this class. Be sure to take into consideration the length of reading assignments and number of exercises assigned. Also remember that since this is a 5-unit course, you can expect an average of 15 hours of coursework per week; that means that you should be prepared to spend approximately 30 hours on this module material. When making your initial post, please try to be as specific as possible, noting which assignments will be completed on or by which days and/or how much time you will be spending on assignments each day. Your initial post is due on Sunday, January Sometimes, we cannot achieve our initial milestone targets due to setbacks or unforeseen obligations that arise. It is important to provide an update on progress and revise initial milestone targets halfway through the process. By Sunday, January 29 th at 11:59 PM, you should return to this discussion board and reply to your initial post with the following information: - Updates on your progress - have you achieved your milestone targets so far? - Possible setbacks - were there any assignments that took longer than you expected? - Unforeseen obligations - did other work interfere with your initial targets, and if so, how did they affect your targets? - Revision of milestone targets - if needed, revise your targets so that you are still on track to complete the module content by the final due date. You must make a follow-up post, even if your milestone targets have not changed. After the initial posts have been made, the project manager should review each group member's plan and provide constructive feedback in a reply post. This reply should address possible concerns that the project manager has about the feasibility of the milestone targets. The reply should also identify potential collaborative opportunities between group members with milestone targets that align well. For an example, please see the "Sample Milestone Targets" discussion board. Project manager replies should be timely, and should be made no later than Tuesday, January 24th, though it is best to provide feedback earlier. The project manager is not obligated to create their own milestone targets, but may choose to do so to help plan their own schedule. Grading Grading For regular group members: - 1 point for initial post on-time - 1 point for initial post detail - 1 point for follow-up post on-time - 1 point for follow-up post detail For the project manager: - 1 point for replying to all group members - 2 points for details included in replies - 1 point for tmely replies - The project manager will lose points if a group member does not make an initial and/or reply post and the project manager does not follow-up with the student in a timely discussion board post.
