Course Project
CE 360 Structural Analysis I
The shown structural plan is a part of a 4-story building. All beams have width of 200mm, but with different dimensions (D1,D2) as shown in the plan. The weight of the super-imposed flooring materials is 2.0kNm2, and the thicknesses of concrete slabs (unit weight of the concrete is 24kNm3) are different (ts1,ts2) as indicated in the plan. All perimeter beams are supporting walls, as indicated by "W" in the plan with a height of 2.7m and density unit weight of 14kNm3. According to the selected values of plan and beam dimensions (L1,L2,L3,L4,D1&D2); (slab thickness (ts1,ts2); and live load value for each student (given in the table below), it is required to:
Task 1
MANUAL_-(to be submitted in week 6)
1-1. Determine the load distribution due to (dead and live) loads on beams at axis D-D, C-C,4-4 and 2-2.
1-2. Draw the resulted S.F.D and B.M.D for the beams mentioned in task 1-1, using manual calculations.
SAP -(to be submitted in week 9)
1-3. Use SAP 2000, to draw the S.F.D and B.M.D for the beams of task 1-1, and check your manual calculations (task 1-2).
Task 2(to be submitted in week 12)
2-1. Determine the load distribution due to the floor's gravitational (dead and live) loads on beams at axis 1-1 and E-E.
2-2. Draw the resulted S.F.D and B.M.D for the beams of task 2-1, using the moment distribution method.
2-3. Use SAP 2000, to draw the S.F.D and B.M.D for the beams of task 2-1, and check your manual calculations (task 2-2).
