Create a cost planning for this project

Project : Classroom Redesign or Reconfiguration.

The pandemic has impacted all aspects of our lives and all industries. With respect to post-secondary institutions and in particular Douglas College the pandemic has dramatically challenged our institution but has also provided many opportunities to learn and improve.

The focus for Douglas College is to improve student engagement and learning experiences and faculty experiences given the transition to various delivery modalities.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in the spring 2020, Douglas College transitioned to completely online learning, with no students on campus. For fall 2021, Douglas College adopted multiple modes of teaching for its classes, with some online, some in person, and some hybrid learning where half the class attended in-person while the other half attended online. Every in-person class had the capacity to be "dual mode," with the faculty member and some students in-person while students who could not come to class due to quarantine requirements or other issues accessed their learning materials online via Blackboard learning management system.

There were situations where students with a full load will have to take their courses using a mixed mode of delivery of in person and online classes in a single day or back to back. In most instances its not practical for students to go home so finding a quiet room or space on campus to participate in their online classes have become important to students. Lack of space is an issue on campus so facility is examine options of redesigning a learning space to accommodate students looking for a learning space on campus to participate in their online classes.

Your group project is to consider redesigning a 1000sq ft. space to create a multi-purpose space which can be used as an appropriate learning environment for students to participate in their online classes whilst on campus.

You will present your plan to the sponsor on March 25, 2022.

As a project team, brainstorm all activities and requirements for renovating the classroom project required to meet the assignment requirements. In your discussions consider visual displays, acoustic quality, seating comfort, sound amplification, and distributed interactivity for both the remote and in-person experience.

Research the costs for 10-15 items and create a cost plan. To meet the assignment requirements ensure that for each cost you identify costs that are:

• Optimistic Estimate
• Pessimistic Estimate
• Most Likely Estimate

Assuming that an anonymous donor donated $20,000 specifically for this purpose.
