Trainee Flight Ops $($TFO$)$

Derp University $($DerpU$)$ is a large mid$-$western land$-$grant institution which offers a professional flight

program. The goal of this program is to develop and groom the pilots of tomorrow. This program will

consist of theoretical classroom instruction, simulator courses, and in$-$aircraft might instruction.

DerpU's aviation department has tasked your organization to design and build its TraineeFlightOps

$($TFO$)$ information system. TraineeFFightops is responsible for tracking pilot trainee progress as well

as flight instructor credentials.

The system should track cumulative fight time logged by trainees through courses that they are

enrolled in$.$ Each course has a minimum duration $($in hours$)$ and can have prerequisite courses.

Each course can consist of several lessons. Lessons can be conducted in the classroom $($ground

lessons$)$ or in the form of in$-$flight instruction $($flight lessons$).$ Lessons may also have pre$-$requisite

lessons. Each lesson has a specific minimum duration $($in hours$)$ and completion parameters. Each

lesson has a set of completion parameters consisting of multiple maneuvers. Instructors log grades

and notes for each maneuver.

The system should also store information pertaining to the trainee including: i$)$ Name; ii$)$ Date of

Birth; iii$)$ Citizenship; and iv$)$ Qualifications. A trainee's qualification consists of their a$)$ Pilot

Certificate; b$)$ Landing Currency, c$)$ Medical Status; and d$)$ Fight Review. The system should store

the pilot certificate identification number $(7$ digits$)$ along with their grade which can be $-$ Student,

Private, Commercial, and Airline Transport. The system should track landing currency for trainees

i$.$e$.$ the date and time of all landings performed. The system should also track the medical

examination history of trainees including the date on which it was performed and the class of

medical. Medical examination classes can be; i$)$ First class; ii$)$ Second class; and ii$)$ Third class. The

system should also track the history of flight review activity performed by the trainees.

The system should also log similar information for fight instructors. In addition to this, the system

should also store instructor certificate information which includes the instructor certificate

identification number $(7$ digits followed by the letters CFI$),$ expiration date, and grade. Instructor

grades can be: i$)$ Certified Filght Instructor $($CFI$)$; ii$)$ Certified Flight Instructor Instrument $($CFII$)$; and

ii$)$ Multi Engine instructor $($MEl$).$

The system should authenticate users based on their university credentials. Once authenticated,

trainees and instructors are shown different dashboards.

Trainees are shown information pertaining to their current cumulative flight time, the courses they

are presently enrolled in$,$ their history of maneuvers completed along with the associated grade and

notes for each maneuver.

Instructors are shown a list of their current courses and lessons, as well as a list of their current

trainees, Instructors should be able to view personal information of a trainee as well as their current

qualifications. Instructors should be able to view current enrolment of each trainee as well as a

history of maneuvers completed and associated grades and notes. Instructors should be able to

generate reports about each trainee containing the aforementioned information.

The system should also restrict access to information such that trainees may only view their own

personal and training information. Instructors are able to view their personal and flight$/$training

information, as well as that of their trainees. Instructors may not view personal and flight information

of other instructors. Administrators have accass to all records stored in the TFO system.

The system should be accassible via web browser from mobile devicas, tablets, as well as

computers.
