Project 2: upgrade the loading dock with safety signage, safety fence and fall protection gear The loading dock has become a safety hazard. There were 2 near misses last year and one lost time work injury. The dock is compliant with the current OSHA regulations but you're hearing the new regs for next year will push us out of compliance. Employees should have a safe work environment, regardless of government regulations. You need $50 million to keep the drivers and loaders safe. Capital: $25 million Expense: $25 million This will require the plant to be shut down for 5 consecutive days. Two of those days could be over the weekend, but not holidays. This can be done at the same time as the sorting automation project. If we do this AND the sorting automation project, we can save the $15 million shutdown expense between the two projects.
