create a response: Strike replacements purpose is to take the place of the worker on strike so that operations can continue while collective bargaining is happening. I think they are suitable in some places. One instance of personal experience: I worked in a factory in the union for Nestle'. It was so costly to shut some of the machines off that during their most recent strike some of the strikers themselves actually agreed to come in just to keep certain things running. This made it to where replacements weren't needed during negotiations. I can see where a company making something more necessary than coffee creamer would need to keep production running through the strike as well. I am thinking something like water bottle packs or medicine that people depend on to live would need replacement workers.
