Some of them objective to Jesus taking what they consider a lowly position. I believe the church could benefit by eliminating the titles that identify their positions, we should all be called servants. Titles seem to play a role in the power that the title holds over the people or the person's self-gratification. I have a few family members who are pastor, evangelist, and Elders. At family gathering they Abandon their family titles, instead they are addressed by their religious identification. They don't even wear the towel at family gatherings; I can only imagine the power that incapsulates them mentally. John Garlington writes, "Authentic service to Jesus in the church and in the community requires you to take a towel and not a title." When the church engages the community and drops the religious titles and puts on the towel of services their action and commitment will identify God has the authentic title bearer.
