Create a simple model in excel that calculates the total monetary adjustment to the aircrafts value.

The adjustment should be from Half-Life; the point where each component is mid-way though its respective interval between maintenance events. The calculation is straightforward. If an item costs $100,000 to overhaul, and the interval between overhauls is 10,000 hours, the cost can be calculated on an hourly basis:

An aircraft that is fresh from overhaul (10,000 hours remaining) has a positive value adjustment of $50,000.

An aircraft that is midway between overhauls (5,000 hours since overhaul, and 5,000 hours remaining to the next overhaul) has an adjustment of $0 (Half-Life).

An aircraft that is in Run-Out condition and awaiting overhaul (0 hours remaining) has a negative value adjustment of -$50,000. In the above example, the total spread is $100,000 (i.e. the cost of an overhaul), and the maximum range up or down from Half-Life is therefore +/-50% of the overall cost of carrying out the task (+/- $50,000).
