Create a Timeline for a Planning Optimization for:

The production line of an international Aerospace company. The problem statement reveals that the statement of work meant to be implemented in the hangar requires optimization to meet the planning rate requirements, as there are many wasted steps and time in the current process. The planning does not support the rate type build and needs to be enhanced to meet current and future rate requirements. The objectives are to optimize and augment the production jobs to ensure the future rate requirements of nine aircraft per year are recognized, while focusing on clarity, and simplicity with a uniformity of the language in the specifications and drawings in order to create an optimized process for the production technicians.

The current state in the total process involves 41 steps, 98.5 span hours, with several movements between functions required. The ideal state would be 2 steps, 40 span hours, with a streamlined flow of information by the implementation of a more robust planning and clear communication signals. The ideal future state would be a 97% reduction in handoffs from the current state. The process improvement initiative includes opportunities to clarify planning, simplify access to specifications as well and utilize data input forms for shop floor work instructions to be available in the program dispatch software.

We will be implementing a Kaizen to use the lean concept to find ways to eliminate waste and improve the process will enhance the production while ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability of the jobs to confirm the statement of work is able to meet the rate requirement of 9 air vehicles per year.
