Question:
Create a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for your project (Development of an E-commerce Website):
- List all the activities/with breakdown. It is ok if you are still missing some at this stage
- High Level (level 1) activities: at least 5 activities
- One or more activities have three levels or more.
- Provide cost and duration estimate for the each activity. Justify how you get the estimate
- You can use Excel for the WBS.
If you want to get ahead of yourself: use the MS Project.

My Project Idea: Development of an E-commerce Website
Context of the project:
The project aims to develop a comprehensive e-commerce website for selling various products online. The website will provide a user-friendly interface for customers to browse and purchase products, as well as an administration panel for managing inventory, orders, and customer information.
High-level activities:
a) Requirement gathering and analysis: This phase involves understanding the business objectives, target audience, and functional requirements of the e-commerce website.
b) Design and prototyping: Creating a visual representation of the website's layout, user interface, and navigation flow through wireframes and prototypes.
c) Front-end development: Implementing the visual design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an interactive and responsive website interface.
d) Back-end development: Building the server-side components, such as the product catalog, shopping cart, payment gateway integration, and order processing system.
e) Testing and deployment: Conducting comprehensive testing of the website to ensure functionality, usability, and security. Once testing is complete, deploying the website to a production environment.
Correlated activities:
a) Requirement gathering and analysis must be completed before proceeding to design and prototyping.
b) The design and prototyping phase will provide a blueprint for front-end development.
c) Front-end and back-end development will occur simultaneously but may require periodic coordination for integration.
d) Once development is complete, thorough testing will be conducted to identify and fix any issues before deployment.
Duration:
a) Requirement gathering and analysis: 1 week
b) Design and prototyping: 2 weeks
c) Front-end development: 4 weeks
d) Back-end development: 6 weeks
e) Testing and deployment: 2 weeks
Cost estimate:
The cost estimate for the project will depend on various factors, such as the complexity of the website, required features, and the development team's rates. A target budget of $50,000 is set for this project, which includes design, development, testing, and deployment costs. The cost estimate may be refined further based on detailed discussions with the development team and any additional requirements that arise during the project's execution.
