$2.$ A two$-$lane carriageway for safe passage of vehicles.

$3.$ The road surface height should not be less than the existing bridge

$4.$ The carriageway should be wide enough to incorporate bicycle lanes in each direction.

$5.$ Consideration should be given to material selection on the basis of sustainable production, maintenance costs and full life cycle costs.

Boundary conditions are The new bridge should be located as close as possible to the east of the old bridge whilst leaving sufficient separation for the construction activities and traffic flow to carry on independently.
