ArkansasBest $($AB$)$ is a small catering firm located in Little Rock. During a typical summer weekend, AB caters fifteen picnics with twenty to fifty people each. The business has grown rapidly over the past year and the owner wants to install a new computer system for managing the ordering and buying process. The catering process is described as follows:

When the receptionist receives potential customers call, he$/$she describes the menus to them. AB has a set of standard menus. The receptionist records the customer information $($e$.$g$.,$ name, address, phone number, etc.$)$ and the information about the picnic $($e$.$g$.,$ place, date, time, which one of the standard menus, total price$)$ in the system.

If the customer decides to officially book a picnic, a contract is created. The customer is then faxed a copy of the contract and must sign and return it along with a deposit $($often a credit card or by check$).$ Sometimes, the customer wants something special $($e$.$g$.,$ birthday cake$).$ In this case, the receptionist determines the added cost. Then the contract is adjusted. All uncontracted $($un$-$booked$)$ picnic information is removed from the system. The remaining money is collected when the picnic foods are delivered.

Each week, the owner reviews the picnics scheduled for that weekend and orders the supplies $($e$.$g$.,$ plates$)$ and food $($e$.$g$.,$ bread, chicken$)$ needed to make them. The owner would like to use the system for marketing as well. He wants to keep track of customer history. For the new customers, special gifts are mailed. For the repeat customers, thank$-$you cards and special offers are mailed to them.
