Create an Alien Genetics Activity

Directions:

1. Flip a coin twice per trait to determine the combination of alleles your Alien has for that trait. Heads represents a dominant allele, and tails represents a recessive allele. Write "H" or "T" (for heads or tails) in the "Flip 1" and "Flip 2" columns on the attached chart.

2. The combination of your two flips determines your Alien's genotype. Using the letters assigned to each trait in the table below, write your Alien's genotype in the attached chart.

3. Use the information found in the table below to determine your Alien's phenotype for each trait and record it in the attached chart. Note: Limb Length exhibits Incomplete Dominance.

4. Draw a simple sketch of your Alien in the space provided using your chart and the information provided in the "Notes" section of the table below.
