Hello there intern,
Welcome to the United Way KFL&A We were delighted to learn that the bright KTown Marketing intern who put so much work into our latest blogging initiative would be joining us for the leadup to our annual community fundraising drive.
During your placement with us we will have you develop an infographic that will be an integral part of our social media and marketing initiative coinciding with our June to November fundraising campaign.
Susan Yewande is in charge of marketing this year, so youll be reporting to her. Our staff Marketing Director is off on maternity leave, so Susan has stepped in Susan is an accountant and isnt completely comfortable with social media and infographics.
Youll need to convince Susan that this years social media campaign should include an infographic. Youll also need to make a compelling case for what content should be included in it Thatll be your first task within your placement. I know youve learned the direct patternthis time, youll have to use the indirect pattern since Susan will be resistant. Youll want to review the lesson material on persuasion. And remember this is a persuasive introduction email since Susan hasnt yet met you.
Once youve convinced Susan about the infographic, your main task will be to create that infographic. Its purpose will be to open peoples hearts and minds and wallets to the United Way and our cause during the community fundraising campaign. Youll want to review the learning material on infographics and do some independent learning online about infographics. Review the three lessons you'll receive on infographic basics, colours, and charts and tables.
Lastly, let me emphasize that you will get plenty of help during your placement. United Way Office Manager Caitlin Ortega will vet all of your work. Shell make sure your emails and your infographic meet a professional standard before anyone sees them. This means you may have to revise and rewrite your work a few times so that you and the United Way are wellreflected.
Thats it for now. Good luck. Have fun. And dont forget to keep your receptivefeedback hat on Oh And don't start the first task until after your Writing for Marketing lesson this week.
Warm regards,
