Your nephew, who lives down the street with his mother, is accused of burglarizing several homes in the neighborhood. You know that he was severely abused by his father during his early childhood and that his mother has struggled to bring him up on her own. Therefore, you know him well and feel sorry for him; you also feel that he can be rehabilitated. Your sister, who is his mother, calls you and asks you to lie to the police that he visited your home last Wednesday night. If you dont, she tells you, he will be tried as an adult and face a felony sentence.
