Variable Description

Dependent variables. Using hospital ratings to evaluate hospital reputation.

Independent variables. This report includes two independent variables: the hospital's care quality and the use of information systems. I use the average readmission rates as an indicator of the quality of care in a hospital and the use of CDS as an IT variable.

Readmission rate: unplanned readmission within $30$ days

CDS: Adoption of clinical decision support system $($CDS$)($if a hospital uses CDS$,$ coded as $1,$ otherwise $0)$
