Data Description: The $20$ questions in this homework will be based on the Excel dataset for Homework $5$

$($HW$5$ Excel Dataset.xlsx$)$ provided in the Homework $5$ folder in the $$Files$$ section in Canvas. The tab

$$Data Definitions$$ contains the definition of each variable in the Excel file. The tab $$Data$$ contains the

variables to be analyzed for the homework.

Imagine that the data comes from the California Ocean Conservancy. The organization conserves

abalone which are large sea snails with shells. According to managers at the conservancy, the typical

process of determining the exact age of each abalone involves manually counting the number of rings in

its shell under a microscope. This work can be very tedious and costly$,$ and the conservancy has hired a

consultant to explore a new process that will predict the age of abalone based on data that is easier for

the conservancy to collect $($such as the abalone$$s dimensions, weight, and sex$).$

The California Ocean Conservancy has collected data on a random sample of abalone from the millions

of abalone it has conserved over the years and has shared this data with the consultant. This random

sample can be found in the $$Data$$ tab in the Excel file. Each abalone was drawn independently for the

sample. In addition, suspicious outliers and erroneous datapoints have already been removed from the

data in the Excel file.

For all regressions in this homework, assume that all assumptions and conditions are satisfied to

perform inference. In addition, perform all required analysis with all predictors in the regression even if

they do not appear to be statistically significant.
