Data validation is a tool within Excel that I use a few times throughout my job. It allows you to apply a rule, restrict data, and control the information and value you put into a cell (making the input less than 10, whole numbers only, can only enter a time, etc). Given that we work with a lot of data at my company and enter this information manually, Data validation helps reduce the number of errors by adding restrictions. It is crucial in data entry for me since we have multiple users with whom we share a spreadsheet and want them to input accurate and valid values.
