Determine the allowable contact soil pressure with a factor of safety $3$ of a rectangular footing

placed on layered soils, as shown in Figure $1.$ The allowable settlement for the proposed footing

is $50mm.$ Further, for the allowable soil pressure compute the settlements at point A $($as shown

in Figure $2)$ and at the center. $K_s($coefficient of earth pressure$)=K_0.(15$ Marks$)$
