Decision$-$making is a common thread throughout all managerial functions. Whether you are planning, organising, leading or controlling, there are decisions to be made. Without effective decision$-$making skills, we will battle in our roles as managers. Those who struggle with decision$-$making, run the risk of appearing to lack confidence, knowledge, competence and organisational vision. This could lead to a lack of trust $$ a vital component of effective leadership and management.

To effectively make a decision, we have to consider two components $$ information and time. We need to consider how much information we have and whether the decision can be made with the information that we have available; and we need to consider how much time we have to make the actual decision. The decision$-$making model assists us in making an informed decision that is based on an original plan. It also takes into account the impact of internal and external influences. With this in mind, please discuss the following:
