Subject: Vacancies Report

Allow me to give you an update on our vacancies.

$1$ Yesterday I was informed by MrWanchai, our site manager, that he will be leaving at the end of the month. He will be difficult to replace as he has been with SCC for sixteen years, having joined the company during its first expansion period so knows our operations better than anyone. He has been offered the chance to lead a major project on the Eastern seaboard, working for a US company that is setting up a joint venture with a local company. He will be getting a $40-50\%$ increase in salary. Unfortunately, I had no idea of this until it was too late, and so was unable to make a counter offer to try and convince him to stay.

$2$ Mr Bordee, one of our senior sales representatives, has left to set up his own clothes shop. For some time he has been running his own clothing business in parallel with his post at SSC and it has proved so successful, he has now decided to make it his full time occupation.

$3$ I have also received the resignation of Mr Lim, formerly business manager in the speciality chemicals and adhesives division. As I informed you last week, your predecessor discovered that for some time, he had in fact been siphoning off some of our business by presenting himself to customers as a CHL agent. Using his

knowledge of our formulae, volumes, prices and costs he set up his own adhesives operation, for which he has been invoicing his network of customers. His resignation resolves the matter honourably for everyone concerned. Although I understand Mr Lim is continuing his business, I trust that you do not wish me to

instigate any further action against him.
