• Summarize the Rescorla-Wagner model of classical conditioning & describe how it explains an animal's behavior during acquisition & extinction.
• Describe a situation when continuous reinforcement might be the best method to use to teach a new skill. When might partial reinforcement be more appropriate?
• Describe Skinner's classic superstition experiment & discuss cases where superstitions arise in the real world. Be sure to discuss how the development of these superstitions might be based on accidental pairings between environmental events.
• Describe how Premack's principle works (don't just define it). How might you use knowledge of Premack's principle to get a child that is a picky eater to eat new foods?
• Discuss the factors which influence the effectiveness of a reinforcer. Describe a case from your own life in which each of these factors affected you.
