Describe the ethical considerations in the consumer experience; before, during, and after purchase. Starbucks and Target, include examples

HERE IS A PAPER EXAMPLE

Consumer expectations today are vastly different from those of a few years ago, when the marketplace was dominated by retailers. Consumers nowadays expect companies to not only satisfy their daily demands, but also anticipate their future needs before they ask for them. As a result, customer service has become as important as price, as consumers have more power than ever before to influence the company's reputation, both positively and negatively. Taking this into consideration, customer service representatives, whether on the phone or online, must attentively listen to customers' concerns and needs, resolve their issues quickly, and complete all of their tasks.

Amazon is one of the world's largest corporations. It is the retailer that most consumers turn to when they want to make a purchase, especially if the consumer has Amazon Prime, which provides free two-day shipping on many items. This may lead most customers to believe that Amazon's customer service is superior to all alternatives. However, Amazon, like all large corporations, has had issues with its customer service. Overall, Amazon has received very positive feedback regarding its customer relationships; however, there is always room for improvement, and Amazon strives to set a higher and higher bar for itself, rather than simply outperform its competitors. Indeed, according to Coleman (2018), Amazon considers itself to be the most customer-centric company on the planet.

Regardless of how nice those customer-friendly marketing techniques are, the customer- centered personalization can't work well unless it's accompanied by high-quality, high-visibility customer service.

The cognitive and affective outcomes of a customer's exposure to or interaction with a company's people, processes, technologies, products, services, and other outputs are defined as customer experience. Customer experience is a term used to describe a customer's interaction with a company. Customer experience refers to the sum of all interactions and opinions about a company that a customer has with it. Customer satisfaction is an essential component of customer relationship management.

McDonald's advertised through a variety of channels, including television, websites, and newspapers, in order to gain customer experience. McDonald created their website as well as their own page on various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and others. As a result, customers can easily obtain the most recent information or new products by visiting their official websites. McDonald's also uses television commercials to promote and attract customers' attention to their new product. Furthermore, McDonald's launched a new delivery program by developing a mobile app called "McDelivery Malaysia App" that allows customers to place online orders using smart phones.

Additionally, McDonald's usually served their customers a set meal. One meal, for example, included a McChicken burger, French fries, and Coca-Cola. They also provide customers with a variety of product packages such as Happy Meal, Weekday Breakfast Special, McValue Lunch, and McValue Dinner. McDonald's offers set meals or packages at a lower cost. For those who want to celebrate their birthday at McDonald's, they also offer a party package.

All the above strategies, is what attracts the customers and creates regulars.

My most recent purchase that I used the consumer behavior process for was a Journal/Calendar. Without going too deep, I have always struggled with maintaining my mental health in check and while scrolling through TikTok, I came across this influencer who uses journaling as a way to cope with her mental health. I of course let myself be influenced by social media once again, and I started doing more research about journaling and meditation that can help with mental health.

I knew for a while that my mental health has not been the best ever since after I graduated HS and started college. The time that I realized that I needed to help myself was when I started writing my thoughts down on little sticky notes and leaving them around my apartment for me to look at everyday, my post would say stuff like..."You got this''..."Never give up"..."Keep going"...."Don't let it bother you".. and so on. These sticky notes helped for a while but then I started realizing that it wasn't enough. Soon enough my thoughts started getting bigger and bigger and there was no way I could fit it all into a single post-it. Furthermore, I took the step and time to research helpful journals online and I came across quite a few on Amazon. I am very picky when it comes to purchasing stuff so it took me a whole week to find my perfect journal.

During this process that took a week, I started comparing prices and looking at reviews of people who had bought journals before and I investigated a bit further. I had started attending a weekly Yoga class with my best friend and it became something that I was totally obsessed with and I found pleasure and safety in doing it, so I kept attending the Yoga meetings every Saturday morning. Learning about meditation and listening to your inner self made me realize what I was missing. My thought process has always been funky. I always used to think the worst about every single situation in my life and by doing this, it prevented me from going out there and it alienated

me from making more friends and trying new things. I was always scared of change and of moving on. It was a constant battle field inside my brain. I knew I had to get my thoughts together and in order, but how?

After a long process of finding the right journal, I finally found it and purchased it. Two days later, it was delivered at my doorstep, I was super excited about this purchase, and although I didn't have to buy it, I felt like it was more of a need than a want. I needed an inspirational place to write my thoughts and not just have them out in the open for everyone to see. I needed my own little private journal, a safe place for me and my thoughts. The price was perfect for the journal, the reviews were amazing and the journal itself was beautifully made. It wasn't just a blank notebook to write on, it also had a yearly calendar, it had stickers and a whole area dedicated to meditation and to write and reflect on yourself in order to improve self-growth.

I was always a bit skeptical about making online purchases because not all of the time, you get what you ask for. I was a bit nervous about this purchase because I knew that as soon as I clicked "Check-Out", I was going to have to face my insecurities and thoughts. I knew that I had to face my mental health and write down everything I had in my mind, which was a lot. However, I wasn't just focused on the negative aspect of it, I also looked into the positive outcome. I was finally going to have a private journal to write and reflect about myself in, I would finally have a place in which I was feeling judged or looked down on, I knew that this was my safe place and sanctuary, so I started writing in the first page, the first thought that came to mind, which was... " I am so glad I made this purchase."
