Instructions

In this assignment, you and your partner(s) are starting a new retail business selling exclusively on the web. While building your company, you need to make decisions about your business and begin to build content that will be featured on your website.

You may select one of the following products as the basis for your business. Your new company will buy direct from the manufacturer and resell the product.

1. A new snowboard, designed by a well-established manufacturer, with a focus on new riders and economical price.
2. A previous generation of cell phone, imported from China in volume, with a good feature set, quality, and a low cost to the consumer.

The basic description and graphics for each of these products is outlined in the attached PPT file, which you can use as a resource for this project.

In Part One you will need to develop and document the following:

Create a company image that is suited for the type of business you are launching. This includes naming the company and having a corresponding website address [URL] that could be registered. You will also build a description of your company and a mission statement. You cannot use the manufacturer's business name, as your business is independent.

The development of a marketing strategy, which should include business policies, pricing, how you will distribute the product, warranties, return policy etc. these are elements that you will publish on the website so that the customer understands how you conduct business.

You will develop product list, which includes one of the products listed in the PowerPoint. You cannot include main products from other manufacturers, however you can offer accessories to the main product if you believe that it will improve your business. The descriptions that you develop are based on the material provided in the Powerpoint, and should effectively promote the sale.

You should develop any other messages that you would include on the website, which would support your credibility and image, and encourage visitors to buy your products.
