DESN 110: Foundation Design History Research Project: Interior/Architecture Analysis Learning Outcomes: Student possesses a foundational understanding of two and three-dimensional design Student has a fundamental knowledge of design principles = Student has knowledge of appropriate presentation and graphics software Select a research topic related to interiors, architecture, urban planning, or gardens and landscapes and create an approximately 1000 word illustrated digital slide show exhibition using the conventions of formal academic writing driven by a thesis and argument about your topic. Before drafting your project you will want to: describe your building(s)/space(s), including material(s), size, shape, color, texture, imagery/ornament, and any distinguishing characteristics (ask yourself, \"What does the space look like?"), and be prepared to integrate your formal analysis into your argument = analyze your building(s)/space(s) within cultural contexts - these may include artistic, social, cultural, economic, or political contexts - develop a thesis and argument that examines your building(s) or space(s) within these contexts Your project must include approximately 8-10 clear images of your building(s)/space(s) with captions indicating the name or title of your interior/building/garden (Peacock Room, dining room, etc.), responsible parties (i.e. designer, architect, decorator, etc.) and date.
