Determine the lightest pipe section and smallest diameter bolts to design an
antenna mounting system located in Hawaii in a wind zone producing an ultimate
wind pressure of 32psf. The antenna will be attached at an elevation of 100'AGL,
which is four feet above the top support and has a size of 84" tall x 12" wide x4"
deep x60lbs. The remote radio unit ( RRU ) will be attached in the center of the
supports and has a size of 18" tall 12'' wide 5" deep 50 lbs. A diplexer will be
attached one foot below the bottom support and has a size of 6" tall x12" wide x
3" deep x 10lbs. The supports are spaced two feet apart consisting of angle
brackets with two bolts each to the existing framing and one u-bolt to the pipe. The
pipe and bolts shall be ASTM A53 and ASTM A36 steel, respectively. Consider
the supporting framing and brackets to have adequate capacity.
