• Choose a research topic that you would like to explore using the selected dataset. Be sure to choose a topic that is appropriate for the dataset and that can be clearly understood and analyzed.
• Develop a research question related to the research topic and dataset you chose.
• Identify the variables and the research design and methods you would use based on the research question you developed.

• Describe one independent, one dependent, and one control variable (if applicable) to be used in the proposed study, as well as the population under study.
• Explain and justify the use of the selected dataset.
• Propose a research design and method. Justify the research design and method based on the research question you developed and this weeks Learning Resources.
• Identify variables and any potential need for recoding or combining variables.
• Explain what measure(s) of association are needed to quantify the relationship between the independent and dependent variable.
