Question: Develop a WBS and enter milestones for the Project Tracking Database project: Enter the 20 tasks below into the task name column in the order

Develop a WBS and enter milestones for the Project Tracking Database project: Enter the 20 tasks below into the task name column in the order shown. This is similar to entering and editing data in an Excel spreadsheet. Move the split bar to reveal more columns. Adjust the task name column width to make all the text properly displayed. Order Task name 1 Initiating 2 Kickoff meeting 3 Develop project charter 4 Charter signed 5 Planning 6 Develop project plans 7 Review project plans 8 Project plans approved 9 Executing 10 Analysis 11 Design 12 Implementation 13 System implemented 14 Controlling 15 Report performance 16 Control changes 17 Closing 18 Prepare final project report 19 Present final project 20 Project completed

(2) Creating summary tasks. The WBS separates tasks according to the project management process groups of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. These tasks will be the level 2 items in the WBS for this project (The whole project is considered level 1).

The summary tasks in this assignment are Task 1, 5, 9, 14, and 17. To create the summary tasks you need to select task 2 through 4 then click the indent task button on the ribbon under the schedule group of the task tab. After the subtasks (task 2-4) are indented, notice that Task 1 automatically becomes boldface, which indicates that it is a summary task. A collapse symbol appears to the left of the new summary task name. Click it and see the results. Repeat the same steps to indent tasks 6-8, tasks 10-13, tasks 15-16, and tasks 18-20.

(3) Numbering tasks using the standard tabular numbering system for WBS:

Click the Format tab, and then click the outline number checkbox under the show/hide group. Project 2019 adds the appropriate WBS numbering to the task name.

Click the Project Summary checkbox just below the outline number checkbox. Notice that a new task has been added under row 0. It shows the project summary task (the projects name) as level 1.

Save the file as Project tracking Database-Scope. Then continue working on the file.
