Develop an ER model for the database based on the scenario below, using Crows foot model (notation). If you discover while drawing the diagram that the scenario is incomplete, make up reasonable explanations to complete the story. Supply your explanations along with the diagram.
Note:
The ERDs you make look like the Tiny College ERD shown in Figure 4.36. That is, your ERD
must show
o Entity: The proper number of entities and their names
o All needed attributes for each entity: Even though the question doesnt describe them, you should add them based on common sense
o Primary key and Foreign key
o Relationship:
Max. and Min. connectivities (cardinalities): If needed, you can put your justifications on your answer document about why you use the connectivity (cardinality)
Use the Crows foot symbols in Table 4.3
Description (text) of the relationship between entities (e.g., takes, advises, has, etc., in Figure 4.36)
The correct number of relationships between entities
Note that one M:N relationship should be converted into two 1:M relationships. About how to do it, check Section 3.6c in Chapter 3.
In drawing the model, use Crows foot model (notation).
(Scenario)
SFL wants to develop a database to track athletic information about its football players. SFL football team can have a maximum of fifty-three (53) players and a minimum of forty (40) players. Players play in several games. It is possible that some players sit on the bench and do not play in any game. Player performance statistics (e.g., the number of passing yards, running yards, tackles, touchdowns, minutes played, fouls committed, etc.) are recorded for each player for every game. Information collected about a game may include the name of the opponent team, the final score, the attendance number, the game date, etc. A player can be identified by Social Security number only. The other information for a player may include name, address, and phone number.
Players should take training during the on- and off-season to build their physical strength (e,g., weight training, squat jump, etc.) and specific football drills (drills for offensive and defensive players) to improve their athletic performance. Each player should participate in multiple trainings. The training information includes the training name, training description, passing criteria, etc. Training performance statistics (e.g., the number and/or minutes done, etc.). Pass or fail information for each training for each player must be included in the training performance statistics.
Note: add at least two (2) more attributes to each entity in addition to those given.
