EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM ECE 1131: CHILD GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES (9 Developmental Areas Checklists) (10%) After each of the nine developmental areas is presented the students will research and create developmental checklists. Each student will be assigned an age range to research. In the full class, students will brainstorm the following: . What different abilities do you believe a child develops between the ages of 3 years and six years in the area of the listed developmental area? In their assigned age groupings (i.e. 3 to 4 years, 4 to 5 years, 5 to 6 years) students are to work together to compile lists of the skills and abilities in this developmental area, and apply these to their developmental checklist. Each age grouping should list at least 10 developmental milestones per developmental area. At the end of the module each student will review ALL other student's checklists for the purpose of creating a final checklist to use during ECE 1135: Language Study, and ECE 1140: Observation Practicum
