Development of Skills The development of skills is of utmost importance to learners. Sanders (1966) states that there are five characteristics of skills (Dynneson & Gross, 1995): LACAN 1. A skill is a physical, emotional, and/or intellectual process 2. A skill requires knowledge, but knowledge alone does not proficiency. 3. A skill can be used in variety of situations 4. A skill ill can be improved through practices, which can be de ensure 5.
